Interview with Yvan @ the FaceHunter: “Unique style is an extension of someone’s live. The people I photograph… they have something that makes them comfortable, people independent in their mind”.
Gabi (my hubby, the other part of Chicisimo) was very lucky to meet with Yvan Rodic, the street style photographer behind The Face Hunter, a guy I’ve been following for so long and who’s inspired me so much. As soon as we saw we had an opportunity to interview him, we did not even think about it, we knew what we wanted to ask him… I think I had known for a long time already.
I hope you enjoy the video above, make sure you visit his blog and follow him on Twitter. And if you are in London this week, Yvan will be signing copies of his book!
Some of his comments are highlighted below. Enjoy!

- The way I photograph people is very instinctive. I am not a scientist, I’m not a journalist. I just trust what I feel.
- Behind the hunting, there is some kind of organization. I try to be in the right city, at the right event, at the right time… be where the things are happening. I spend a lot of time until I see a person I am interested on and seduced by.
- I look for creative people, elegant, people that wear something that fits them, when I can say “this girl has something” then I take the picture. I look for the energy and the vibe of the person.
- London and Scandinavia, the most inspiring places in the world to photograph people. Everyday something new going on.
- Unique style is an extension of someone’s live. The people I photograph… they have something that makes them comfortable, people independent in their mind.
- About personal style blogs: It’s pretty interesting as a radical change of the media and the fashion world. Fashion used to be something that people would follow from above, and now even young girls create their own fashion. Its a positive change.
