Interview with Becca @ Fashion She Says: “I find the street style culture fascinating”
It’s really interesting how so many girls from different backgrounds have this one thing in common: we find that personal style blogs are a way to “travel” to other countries, to other places. And the fact is, international blogs give us an exposure to views we normally don’t have around us, and in the case of street fashion this is particularly true!
Today we have with us Becca from Fashon She Says, who shares this view, as I do. Enjoy the video, make sure you follow her blog and take a look at her outfits here on Chicisimo!

I asked Becca to write the responses to the last three questions… here they are:
Q: What is a must have for this season? What trendy item will not be in your closet & why?
Shoes are an easy way to update a look seasonally… A must-have item for winter 2010 is a pair of over-the-knee boots – they’re practical & chic (qualities that override trends). I’ve been living in a pair of brown suede Chloé over-the-knee flat boots that lace up the back – I wear them with dresses/pants.
Conversely, a trendy item not in my closet is a pair of peep-toe booties. They’re too hot to wear during the spring/summer & too cold for fall/winter – I don’t care to freeze my feet & refuse to wear tights with open-toed shoes (an old fashioned yet valid notion).
Q: Please tell us 3 brands you love (if these brands are not popular internationally, even better!)
3.1 Phillip Lim: As a young designer, Mr. Lim knows what girls want to wear: pretty dresses (lace, beaded & brocade) & structured jackets (sequined, fur & leather) – he designs my favorite label.
Anna Sui: Ms. Sui’s clothes have hung in my closet for a long time. I like how her collections unite each season to tell the tale of a rock ‘n’ roll bohemian warrior – I especially love the prints of her chiffon/silk dresses.
See by Chloé: See by Chloé is Chloé’s secondary line with a distinct point of view. See by Chloé’s sensibilities suits my inner Francophile: gamine taffeta dresses, sailor tops & high-waisted skirts.
Q: Can you tell us three fashion stores in NYC a visitor should not miss?
Bergdorf Goodman: Bergdorf is my mecca: a beautifully curated wonderland of shopping (check out the fifth floor’s clothing/second floor’s shoes). Some of my earliest memories of my mom are shopping/lunching with her here.
Intermix: There are several Intermix stores in NYC, but the best one is located on the Upper East Side. They have a great selection of bags/shoes & sell designer pieces that aren’t oversaturated in other stores.
Anthropologie: I discovered this lifestyle store while at college in Boston – my favorite location is at Rockefeller Center. They have great home accessories & the jewelry in the glass cases is usually one-of-a-kind.
Becca, thanks for taking the time to respond to these questions!!!
